Microsoft has released new cumulative updates for Windows 10 day, and of course, version 2004 and 20H2 have obtained their particular pack of improvements.

Windows 10 version 2004 and 20H2 share exactly the same cumulative update, with the latter representing probably the most stable version of the operating-system.

The cumulative update aimed at the 2 versions is KB5001330, and likewise towards the typical security updates for Windows 10 and also the built-in components, it comes with three important fixes.

First of all, it resolves a potential elevation of privilege hitting Azure Active Directory, after which, it offers fixes for recently discovered security bugs related to RemoteFX vGPU.

Microsoft explains that because of all these vulnerabilities, future Windows updates will no longer include this feature, as other secure vGPU choices are available, including DDA in Windows Server LTSC releases.

No new known issues

The last fix concerns an issue that was originally created by another cumulative update.

"Addresses a problem in which a principal in a trusted MIT realm fails to get yourself a Kerberos service ticket from Active Directory domain controllers (DC). This occurs on devices that installed Windows Updates that contain CVE-2020-17049 protections and configured PerfromTicketSignature to 1 or more. These updates were released between November 10, 2020 and December 8, 2020. Ticket acquisition also fails with the error, "KRB_GENERIC_ERROR", if callers submit a PAC-less Ticket Granting Ticket (TGT) as an evidence ticket without providing the USER_NO_AUTH_DATA_REQUIRED flag," Microsoft explains.

Just like the rest of the cumulative updates, KB5001330 obtainable from Windows Update on all Windows 10 devices.

At the time of writing, I'm not aware of any installation issues, so in theory, everything should work effectively when trying to set up KB5001330, without any new known problems acknowledged by Microsoft so far.
